Winter Solstice falls on December 21, 22 or 23 every year. It is a traditional Chinese festival.

 

This is a special day, the north to eat dumplings, the south to eat tangyuan and pumpkin customs, has been continued to this day.

 

Winter solstice, is the northern hemisphere around the shortest day time, the longest night of the day, and the farther north the shorter the day, the North Pole night phenomenon. On the winter solstice, the sun's rays directly direct the Tropic of Capricorn, the sun's rays are most inclined to the northern hemisphere, and the sun's altitude Angle is the smallest.

 

The winter solstice is the turning point at which the sun returns to the north. After this day, it will "reverse course" and the sun will begin to move north from the Tropic of Cancer, increasing the amount of daylight in the northern hemisphere.

 

The ancient people also regarded the winter Solstice as a "good luck day", indicating the beginning of a new solar term and a happy winter solstice.
