1. 3M is a brand name for masks

All 3M products can be called 3M masks. There are different types of masks under this brand: such as thermal masks, anti-particulate masks (dust masks), medical protective masks and medical surgical masks.

There are different types of masks under 3M masks, such as 3M 9002 (headband type, KN90), 3M 9001 (earband type, KN90), 3M 9002V (headband type, with valve, KN90), 3M 9502 (KN95), 3M 8205 (cup type, KN95) etc.

 

2. N95 is a mask certification standard

As long as they meet the N95 standard and pass the NIOSH review, the product can be called "N95 mask". The N95 mask has a filtration efficiency of more than 95% for particles with aerodynamic diameter ≥ 0.3 µm. The aerodynamic diameter of air bacteria and fungal spores mainly varies between 0.7-10 µm, which is also within the protection range of N95 masks.
